Advanced Behaviour Classes for Dogs
Continue your dog training journey for the life of your dog. Advanced Behaviour Classes for Dogs enables you to come to dog training classes on a regular basis throughout your dog's life. Feel confident knowing that others in attendance have already completed a training course with Animal Behaviour Coaching (or equivalent), enabling the group to work on more advanced behaviours and training techniques.
Force-free training techniques
Force-free training predominantly uses positive reinforcement techniques to teach the desired behaviours. This is when a pleasant consequence is added to the situation to increase the likelihood of the desired behaviour. Examples of positive reinforcers for dogs include food, play, and petting. We will be associating these reinforces with a bridge (eg clicker) to aid in rapid and effective training.
Vaccination
Please ensure that your dog is up to date with its C5 vaccination, as this is a requirement of attendance. The puppy course of vaccinations consists of 2-3 vaccinations roughly 4 weeks apart. Then, a booster vaccination 12 months later is required, with annual boosters for life. If you are unsure of your dog’s vaccination status, or if your dog has not received any vaccinations yet, please contact your veterinarian. Proof of vaccination will be required.
What’s Included?
Advanced Behaviour Classes for Dogs are practical-only sessions. There is no set course outline like there are with the other group training courses. Animal Behaviour Coaching will have loose lesson plans ready, however can be flexible depending on the needs of the group each class. This enables you to either sign up for the term, or attend on a casual basis week-to-week. If attending on a casual basis, you must confirm your place in the class at least 24 hours prior as places are limited.
